Dr. Monaé Raphael

Monaé holds both Doctorate and Master of Public Health degrees, as well as a Master of Biomedical Sciences. She brings a multidisciplinary perspective to expert consulting backed by her experiences in research at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes of Health, in the Pharmaceutical Industry (serving 7 of the top 10), as a policy fellow on Capitol Hill, in grassroots community-based participatory research (Bronx, New York and Baltimore, Maryland), and in academia developing courses and teaching graduate Public Health students. She is experienced in analyzing data and research methods, program and proposal development, systems thinking, and applying best practices (that yield results) to challenging public health problems. Her research has been presented at the American Public Health Association national meetings as well as the Public Health Association of New York City, and she has given invited talks in various community-based settings. After joining One River in 2013, Monaé assumed leadership of the team in 2019. Applying digital solutions to their work, the One River team continues to deliver excellence in services to our clients.

Stephen Banks

He has more than 25 years experience in grants development and management in universities and non-profit health care and medical organizations. Mr. Banks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. In 1998, Mr. Banks incorporated One River Grants, offering comprehensive grants identification (matching clients to relevant funding sources), concept design, health services delivery program development, literature review and research, preparation and submission of grant applications, and consultation for ongoing grants administration. In 2000, Mr. Banks established egrants.net, an internet based company that provides current and comprehensive medicine and health care grant information available through government and private funding sources.
